Arunachal Pradesh, the land of sun rising, is situated at the north-east part of India. The geographical scenario is filled with nature, surrounded by the ranges of Himalaya. Arunachal Pradesh has got its name from the word Aruna and chal which means sun and rays and the dawn breaks by4.30 am. It is hidden land which boats of meagre population of 20 different tribes, scattered all over the state. The major population compromises of Mongolians and Tibetans, mostly follow Buddhism and Vaishanvism.

It is the home to the Tawang Buddhist monastery, Ziro, Famous for cultural festivals, the Namdapha tiger project in Changlang district and Sela Lake near Bomdila with its bamboo bridges hanging over the river. Religious places such as Malinithan at Lekhbali, Rukmaninagar near Roing, (the place for where Rukmani, the wife of Lord Krishna in Hindu mythology,) is said to have live, Parshuram Kund in Lohit district.
Snow laden mountains makes it ideal destination for the winter vacation. Winter sports such as Rafting, Trekking, and Hiking River rafting birds' watching can be enjoyed.
The peoples of Arunachal Pradesh celebrate every moment of life which is reflected through its festivals. They enjoy number of festivals such as Solung, Mopin, Losar, Boori Boot, Dree, Nechi Dau, Khan, Kshyat-Sowai, Loku, Longte Yullo, Mol, Nyokum, Ojiale, Reh, Sanken, Si-Donyi and Tamladu with folk tribal music and dance. |
