Hill resorts provide a Cool getaway from the
polluted city environment. The Northern Himalayas houses some
of the most beautiful sights to be found not only in India
but in the whole world.Most of the Hill stations in these
parts were developed during the Raj era which left a distinct
mark on them. The Kullu-Manali valley is a gorgeous valley
formed by the Beas river and framed by awe inspiring Himalayan
Mountains. Shimla was the most important British 'Hill Station"
and the "Summer Capital" of India. The town has
a strong English flavour, with stately colonial buildings
and a quaint British Raj atmosphere. Mussorie a mountain-resort
town, dotted over the largely by slopes of the Himalayas.
Mussorie has snow in the winter, though not enough for skiing.
The Kumaon Hills have been long known for their idyllic beauty-huge
mountains. Here are some of the most beautiful resorts in
north India and Nainital is one of them. Nainital, literally
means the abode of the eye-goddess. Sail boats skim across
its waters, and there is an air of abundant leisure here.
Jammu the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, is perched
like a guard on the first sloping ridge. Darjeeling, is the
most organised hill resort in eastern Indian.

It has attracted generations of visitors to sample the joys
of cool, healthy & gracious living. Located at the tip
of the upper Palanimalai Hill, Kodaikanal is a Beautiful Hill
Station in the South India. Ooty, the queen of Hill Stations
is in the Nilgiri mountain ranges. Coonoor is a hill station
13 km from Ooty, and has a mild climate which makes it a charming
and more homely Hill Station. |
