On
the banks of the mighty river Brahmaputra and ringed
on the other side by blue hills, lies city once known
as Pragjyotishpura or 'Light of the East' - now called
Guwahati. Guwahati houses the capital of Assam,
It is the hub of air, rail & road communications
of the northeast. Now quite a busy airport, the facilities
at Guwahati are in the process of up gradation. The
rail services are also being improved with broad gauge
