Tamil Nadu " a long stretch of beach running over
900 kms is situated by the Bay of Bengal and is known
for its natural beauty especially for its chromatic
beaches and clear skies are quite famous for their ideal
position to view the dawn and dusk in its most natural
form. The Marina beach in Chennai is the second longest
beach in the world. It has a wonderful golden foreshore
and is known as the 'Pride of Chennai'. The Covelong
beach is quiet far away from the distractions of the
city and the Elliot's beach is the favorite destination
for those looking for a clean and peaceful atmosphere.

Chunnamber Beach a
famous beach resort located in Ariyankuppam, 7-km from
Pondicherry. The place doesn't lack anything when it
comes to scenic beauty. On one side, there are the calm
backwaters and on the other, a long seashore aptly named
Plage Paradiso!. Chunnambar is one place where tourists
can go rowing, trekking, fishing and have loads of fun.

Covelong Beach away
from the hustle and bustle of the crowded Chennai city,
Covelong's salubrious beach site provides a nice breathing
space and offers numerous with fishing activities. It
was originally a port built by Saadat Ali, Nawab of
Carnatic and it was here that the French General Laboudonnais
landed his troops in 1746. Later taken by Clive in 1752
and destroyed. An ancient Catholic Church, a Mosque
and the Fort make an interesting view from the resort.
There is 5 star hotel of the Taj Group called "Fishermans'
Cove" in Covelong.

Dakhinachitra Beach located
Dakhinachitra Beach : This is a new venture *o show
South Indian heritage. Take a look at the completed
first phase of Tamilian heritage. This complex houses
good collections of various materials of arts and crafts
of the State. It is less than a Km away from the Muttukkadu
Backwaters.

Elliot Beach located
in Besant Nagar, Elliot's beach is the preferred destination
for those with a clean atmosphere in mind. Four decades
ago, Elliot's beach was the favourite haunt of foreigners
seeking a secluded beach to sun bathe at. Following
the road along the coast down south from Marina one
will come to Elliot's beach where one can spend a few
hours relaxing.

Kanyakumari Beach
famous for its spectacular sunrises and sunsets, especially
on full moon days. The KaniyaKumari or Cape Comorin,
is the end of the tip of India's land. This beach is
an marvelous assortment of multi- hued sand. It is surrounded
by Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea.
It is also called 'Thriveni Sangamam', where you can
enjoy the breath-taking views of the Sun Shine and the
Sun Set. It is also famous for Gandhi Mandapam and Kanyakumari
Amman temple. Amidst the sea of Kanyakumari, a small
hillock houses the memorial of Swami Vivekananda.

Kodikkarai Beach also
called Point Calimere, is situated South of Velankanni
and is bounded by Bay of Bengal on the East and Palk
Straits on the South. The Wild Life Sanctuary here
spreads 333 sq. km with 25 km of tropical dry evergreen
forests. It has different kinds of landmass from marsh
to wetlands and backwaters to lake. Many species of
flora and fauna are found here.

Kurusadai Island Beach
well known for their natural beauty this Island Beach
is situated off Mandapam. It is famous for coral reefs
and rare species of marine life such as Dolphins.
Completely surrounded by a chain of coral reefs, the
shallow waters sustain a remarkable variety of marine
life - Starfish, Algae, Sea cucumbers, Crabs, Sponges
and many more. There is a famous shrine of Raja Rajeswari
Amman about 35 kms from Ramnathapuram built inside
a palace.
