Alappuzha Beach famous
for its boat races, backwater holidays, beaches, marine
products and coir industry, Alappuzha beach is a popular
picnic spot. With the Arabian Sea on the west and a
vast network of lakes, lagoons and several freshwater
rivers criss-crossing it, Alappuzha beach is immensed
with natural beauty such as lagoons, vast lakes and
numerous fresh water rivers. Alappuzha beach also known
as Alleppey beach.

Bekal Fort Beach is
situated at the foot of the grand and rather imposing
Bekal fort which is spread over a distance of 35 acres
with one sole cannon on the promontory standing guard
as the solitary guard for the ships that used to drop
anchor at the bekal beach, Kerala. This is one of the
largest forts in Kerala and has been under the control
of various powers including Vijayanagar, Tipu Sultan
and the British. Mountain climbing is also one of the
attractions there at the Bekal beach.

Beypore Beach situated
at the mouth of the Chaliyar River in Kozhikode (Calicut)
district, Beypore, one of the major ports and fishing
harbours of ancient Kerala was a major trade and maritime
centre. Ancient Beypore was much sought after by merchants
from Western Asia, for its ship building industry. The
boat building yard here is famous for the construction
of the Uru, the traditional Arabian trading vessel.

Cheri Beach one
of the most beautiful beaches in Kerala bordering the
northern end of Vypeen Island, is located about 26 km
from Ernakulam city, Kochi. The 15 kms long golden Beach
is very clean, shallow and is ideal for swimming, surfing
and sunbathing. The newly beautified 400 Meters of the
main beach has a walkway and High mask lamps which make
the beach enjoyable even at night.

Dharmadam Island also
known as Dharmapattanam, is beleived to have been a
Buddhist monastry, situated 17-kms from Kannur. A beautiful
5 acre island covered with coconut palms and green bushes
is a beautiful sight from the beach. It is 100 metres
away from the mainland at Dharmadam.

Ezhimala Beach bordered
by the sea on three sides with the Ezhimala hills
making the back drop, a lovely place to spend is located
55 kms from Kannur town, is a cluster of hills at
an altitude of 286m high. This hilly region is also
quite famous for its medicinal herbs have a mytholigical
significance as they are said to be related to "Ramayana".

:: Fort Kochi Beach
has
earned the sobriquet "Queen of the Arabian Sea"
is just 12 km away from Kochi one of India’s
most interesting cities. The town was shaped by the
Portuguese, the Dutch and later the British. The result
of these cultural interfaces are seen in the remains
of the Indo European architecture here.
